I feel very fortunate to be an orthodonist. My team is a wonderful group of talented and skilled women, who make our office a warm and friendly place. It is rewarding to see the transformation patients go through with their treatment. I couldn’t be more blessed for all this profession has given me.
Education and Continuing Education
For my dental education, I attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Following dental school, I completed an additional two years of orthodontic study at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry where I received extensive training in growth and development. I focus on positioning the teeth so that they can work in union with the jaw allowing one to speak, bite, and chew comfortably and effectively. As a bonus, teeth and jaws that work well tend to look good, too. Though my formal education is complete, my learning hasn’t stopped. In order to stay current with emerging methods, I attend numerous continuing education courses and seminars every year. These courses allow me to network with other orthodontists and help us learn from each other. I also complete many hours engaged in online courses and webinars. These grant me more educational opportunities while limiting the time I am away from the office.
As a part of my continuing education, I am an active member of the following professional organizations:

During my time with Dr. Ries, I have worked as an Orthodontic Assistant, Financial Coordinator, Treatment Coordinator, and now the Office Coordinator. Mine is the first smile you will see upon entering the office as I am positioned at the front desk. I pride myself on being able to find the answers to your questions and providing service that exceeds your expectations. Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband exploring the great outdoors. Our favorite activities include baking ,camping, fishing, biking, and going for walks. Between us we have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and one terrific grandson.
As the treatment and financial coordinator, I greet our new patients and walk them through their first visit. Following an exam with Dr. Ries, I will explain treatment recommendations as well as financial options. As you transition into orthodontic treatment I will help you schedule all your necessary appointments including any with other specialists. We have the best team around! We work well together and enjoy serving our patients. When I’m not in the office, I spend time with my husband, Shawn, and our two little girls. I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my family. You will find us setting up our camper every chance we get.
Hello, I’m the orthodontic assistant and have been working with Dr. Ries for over 20 years! I love interacting with the patients one on one. It is rewarding to watch their self-confidence increase as their smiles are transformed. I love it here. After work, you can find me out having fun with my husband, our two daughters, and my cat, China.
As an orthodontic dental assistant, I take diagnostic X-rays, impressions and photographs. I also provide treatment information and quality care to patients. Getting to know our patients personally, watching the changes, and knowing how much a great smile and healthy bite improves a persons self-esteem and quality of life makes my job gratifying. At home, I spend time with my husband and our four daughters, Aubrey, Riley, Sloane, and Landyn. We also have an American Bulldog named Colby.
As an orthodontic assistant, it is my responsibility to educate the patients on their treatment progress and oral hygiene care. I want to be sure your treatment is comfortable and you have fun here! I like to interact with patients and get to personally know details about their lives. My husband and I moved here from Seattle to be closer to our son and his family. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling to Colorado to visit our other two sons, biking, hiking, swimming and playing with my three grandchildren. I am enjoying the great trail system the Omaha area offers.
As the financial coordinator, I am the person that will help you select a payment plan for your treatment as well as complete all the necessary paperwork for your insurance company to ensure you receive the full benefit allowed by your plan. You will also find me working at the front desk answering the telephone and assiting patient’s with making their appointments. I love the atmosphere here at Ries Orthodontics. We have a great team filled with members who come to work happy and look forward to seeing our patients each day. I am also an experienced orthodontic assistant so it is possible you will find me in the clinic from time to time. I have two grown sons and a beautiful grand-daughter. Besides spending time with my family, I love to spend my free time baking and decorating cakes.
