About Dr. Ries

Dr. Barbara Ries is an orthodontist in Omaha, Nebraska who specializes in providing quality orthodontic care utilizing ceramic and gold braces, Damon brackets, Clarity™ and Invisalign®.

Dr. Ries is an Iowa native and grew up just miles from the Field of Dreams. Her dream was always to become a dentist.

She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1983. She then completed a one-year orthodontic residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. From 1985 to 1988, she served as an assistant professor in the Adult Restorative Department at the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. She received a Master’s degree in orthodontics from the college in 1990.

Dr. Ries has been in private practice since 1990. She is a published author and presents lectures to study clubs and to students at local elementary schools.

Dr. Ries is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Nebraska Dental Association, Nebraska Society of Orthodontists, Omaha Orthodontic Study Club, Omaha District Dental Society and Midwestern Society of Orthodontists.

Away from the office she enjoys gardening, cooking, golf, waterskiing, wake boarding and working out. She also enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Stan, and their three children Hannah, John and Luke.
